I do not struggle.

Ahhh...

I've had a great week, month, and five months and counting.

Thanks to everybody who congratulated me about the contest; I truly appreciate it. I don't think it's quite hit me yet ;)

Someone backed into my car and broke the door mechanism. I'm not too upset about it; I wasn't in the car at the time and nobody was hurt thank God. Unfortunately, the window won't roll down anymore, a sad fact that makes toll booths troublesome and keeps me from enjoying the rushing wind as I drive... grrr. Brad and I once compiled a list of the simple things in life that one might come to appreciate more if one knew one was dying. Driving with the windows down was in the upper half of my list. Oh well, it will be fixed soon.

I finally got to go to Islands of Adventure with Cherie this past Sunday. I don't need Halloween Horror Nights to have fun at a theme park... one wonderful smile does it all for me.

I finished my quantum homework. Joy. I'm still working on the project that wouldn't die. I need to buy three birthday presents in the next two days. I got enough sleep two nights in a row, so I'm almost a considerate and conscious human being again... almost. With luck Cherie and I will be able to take my mom to dinner Thursday night for her birthday. Hope of hopes...

I'm going to go to lunch now, I think, since my work took less than a third of the time I expected it to...

I know I don't see many people anymore; I'm sorry, and take care for now. Bye, everyone :)

I love you more every day, Cherie ;)

I was so tired last night that by the time I was driving home I felt like throwing up. *sigh*

I did okay on my French test Friday morning--the one that kept me from making up sleep that night--which left me in a wierd mood. I threw together some things for a hack pack, with Mikaus' help moved my car to somewhere safe for the night, and headed off to Daytona Beach with the rest of the programming team.

I'll skip forward until 6:30pm on Saturday, which left me pissed off that we had come so close to winning but screwed it up. There wasn't a single score sheet printed that didn't have our team at the top, but I thought we had lost it in the last half an hour. Jump forward another two hours to when I was proven wrong again. We won first place by a substantial margin, and in March will be going to Prague to compete internationally. Wooo! :)

I called my mother, who screamed, and Cherie, who wanted to but refrained out of familial respect. Cherie it seems had been following the contest online all day; I'm quite possibly the luckiest man alive. We took a ton of pictures and piled into the vehicles where we drove back to UCF. Somewhere along the line I found out that Cherie had been planning to go to the Halloween Howl but had (as I understood it) changed her mind because she didn't think I would be there. It had been my plan all along to go to the party to at least say hello to everyone, but I didn't tell Cherie that because I didn't want to rub in her face that she probably couldn't go. Anyway, I asked her if she could arrange a ride there again. How much of a bad idea that request was has yet to be seen.

I'm quite afraid, quite worried right now. I ended up going with Brad (care bear), Morgan (care bear), Molly (bat), John (bat), Eric (geek/businessman, I think), Will (bunny), Casey (another one: druggie I think), Sean (who dressed as the coolest Link I have ever seen), and Micki (erm... someone with a purple dress and cape; tasteful) to Patsios for late dinner, as the party was truly lame by that point. I had received a few messages from Cherie saying that she couldn't come up anymore, but they were upset and disconnected. I've been messaging back every few hours since with no reply... I hope she's asleep. After driving Micki back to Pinehurst I ended up crashing on the couch in the TV lounge since I wouldn't have survived the drive home alone. I woke up in there at 4:30 feeling quite awful, pushed myself to my car in the garage, and made it back with just enough energy to collapse.

*sigh*

I wish I could have simply smiled and left well enough alone.
