I do not struggle.

*sigh*

Okay, things are cool. I haven't been too proud of myself lately. I've had various headaches on and off for the last few days, the worst of which is pounding on my brain this very instant, but I deserve it so I welcome it.

I showed up 45 minutes late to work today, so I had to stay about an hour and a half later wearing the cancer hat in the vault to test out the pods and the lab commo systems. It wasn't punishment, just inconvenient timing. I've got programming practice tomorrow, so no fun for me; if I don't wake up early to go to the gym on Saturdays I don't get any real strenuous exercise during the week. Next semester that will hopefully change, in the hard way if not the easy one.

I have team homework due tonight, two chapters of physics and a lisp assignment due monday, and two quantum projects due Wednesday. Don't expect to see me smiling this week.

I need a haircut, and I need to stop thinking about Cherie every five seconds because I won't get to see her for five days no matter what I do and active longing won't help us.

*sigh*

I want you to hit me as hard as you can.

I'm going to fix up some dinner, take a long, cold shower in someone else's bathroom, and shove myself hard enough to stumble through the weekend. Wish me luck!

Cherie... I love you. Take care, everyone.

I'm so tired.

Guster was a wonderful experience. I can't say much more than that. They're an incredible act to see live, and although I didn't know most of the songs that they played (as they are still pushing their new album), it was wonderful singing along to those that I did know and simply enjoying the moment during those that I did not. Happy anniversary once more, Cherie; I haven't stopped thinking of you since ;)

I've been getting a lot of work done, but it just keeps coming. It would help if I had gotten paid at all for the last month of work, but for some reason the cash has yet to appear in my account, so I'll be inquiring tomorrow.

I never truly appreciated the summer until recently. I always enjoyed summertime for the fun, for the company and activity, for the lack of concern, but it was never in stark enough contrast to the rest of the year to inspire in me the profound appreciation it deserves. I miss knowing that everyone I care for is either enjoying themselves or but a phone call away. I miss late night pool and philosophy, and playing video games not for the games themselves but because the time is there to be spent on whatever we choose. I miss the freedom summer held, and I regret using the past tense but the summers of freedom are gone now. What remains are summers of internships and work and investment, trading today for tomorrow, and making the big decisions. I could kick myself for not understanding sooner, but supposedly one can only appreciate that which one has lost. I don't particularly believe it, but that's what they say, and they're supposed to be right about things like that.

On a much related note, Denny was around this weekend, though I saw him for about four hours in total (two of which were in Kill Bill, the bloodiest movie I've ever seen). I'll try to have some time over Thanksgiving, man, but it was good to see you again.

My eyes hurt. I'm going to sleep.

Take care, everybody. I love you, Cherie! :)
