The trip was cool. We (TJ's parents, Sean, Sarah, and I) left around 3:40 on Thursday. I mostly listened to Guster and slept for the trip up, along with watching Reign of Fire again. 2-ish Friday afternoon we arrived in Boston. We packed up TJ's stuff, went on a brief tour, and ate at the Cafeteria on TJ's remaining $733 meal plan. We piled in to the van along with FAR TOO MUCH LUGGAGE. We went to a hotel, picked up Cannolis, and watched Equilibrium. The next morning, we got dressed up and drove to New York for a massive gathering of relatives. One of TJ's cousins had her confirmation earlier and we were invited to dinner at a creepy place called Carosellos with creepy clowns and such painted all over the walls. It was awkward, but TJ didn't know most of the people there either so it wasn't entirely wierd. Plus, TJ and I ended up at the kid's table with a bottle of the best wine I've ever tasted, and crayons and coloring books. We took advantage of the free time to come up with the revised (read rewritten) Ninja Movie plot (it rocks, trust me). After no fewer than 9 courses (hurray for traditional Italian), we headed to an aunt's house where we hid with the kids for awhile and watched Sean and Stephen play The Sims for awhile. Stephen is probably around 17 and looks and acts EXACTLY like Sherman (the Sherminator) from American Pie. By 8:00 we were gone. The trip home was mostly sleeping. I listened to some brand new Guster and Old Man Hands (comedy band from BC, freaking hilarious if you know the guys in it). Eventually TJ and I found ourselves awake at the same time, so we wrote out the script for a few scenes of the movie. We got home around 4:00.
This means that everyone has come home from college, marking the official start of summer in my book. There's a To Do list forming...
1) The Band - We want to be able to play a show July 4th.
2) The Movie - This applies doubly for me. I've got two projects now (one with TJ and one with Brad), both of which are feasible with minimal outside input but will require a lot of energy from those directly involved... the former physical and the latter mental. Hopefully we'll end with something to show for it (deja vu).
3) Running - I'm going running with TJ. The 'with TJ' is the difficult part, as it implies keeping up with that madman.
4) Resident Evil - We're going to beat all of the Resident Evil games, in order.
5) The Beach - We're going to the beach for a weekend. We're going to play a lot of volleyball. We're going to enjoy the water. We will, dammit.
We should be able to do five things in four months without too much trouble, right?
