Awkward Silents

I do not struggle.

The world is a consistently funny place in which to live. I awoke this morning to the realization that I had an oral presentation to do in French. It had to be ten sentences of whatever I wanted to talk about. Most people talked about their families. This is something like what I said...

The grammar is elementary, but not bad considering that I did it in half an hour before class. Someone afterwards said "That's one of my favorite movies." I was satisfied.

I got the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. It is of outstanding quality. I was afraid that the cartoon graphics would prohibit fun, but I was sorely mistaken; playing even as child link is a blast. The size of the game, however, is quite intimidating. The map is huge and not as sparse as an ocean should be, so even with the wind at ones back it takes a long time to get from one side to the other. This is good and bad. It's good because the game will likely be worth its price in play time. It's bad because I won't get any substantial work done until it's through.

Call if you like fun.

I guess it's time to clear out the last bit of nonsense. I'm halfway through God Emperor of Dune, the fourth book in the series, and was surprised to discover written back to me the three page rant that I deleted earlier, spread out through a few hundred pages. I'll have something more to say on that unechoed noise later.

I'm at school, which sucks, because we all know I wouldn't be here unless spring break had ended. There was some beach action going on, with tons of volleyball. I burned a little. I forgot some stuff, learned some other stuff. It's the same old cycle, right?

Jackie, Jill, I'm sorry that I didn't come to your party. I hope it was fun.

I'm getting tired of losing friends because I'm frank. For all of the maneuvering I've entertained I truly do detest politics, and I thought that was an acceptable position. I get in to trouble because I dote on people, and everyone silently understands something that is happily false. I get in to trouble because I speak when others might have held their tongues, and because I've held my tongue when told to speak. I get in to trouble for not seeing people exactly the way they wish to be seen, or in some rare cases the way they simply see themselves. Bah, I've been staring at the blinking cursor trying to decide upon where to take this. It goes nowhere, and does so in excellent company. I have to go to class.
