Egh. It's 3AM and I should sleep, but I feel like I need to do something before I go to sleep and this just might be it.
I just realized that my entire range of real emotion, the only ones I've been able to nail down in 19 years on stage, can be expressed in three letters. Either egh, eh, or hehe. There's nothing more to it than that.
What's been up? I spent five hours Saturday working on one stupid geometry problem that I was probably about 5 minutes from solving when programming practice ended. I could spin metaphors for falling just shy of a climax for hours, but I'm sure you'll do a better job than I. Needless to say, I was disappointed. I followed this up by going shopping for Jenn's 18th birthday with Christina and her two friends, Christine and Jessica, later joined by Phillip and Shane, and later yet by Kevin. We wandered the cultural mecca that is the Altamonte Mall for hours, perusing such stores as Abercrombie & Fitch, Hot Topic, and Abercrombie & Fitch... again... Finally, we left for dinner at TGI Friday's (props to Shane for the suggestion, which was somehow met with not a single complaint) where Christina treated her guy like a tool for an hour and a half over nothing of substance. Hands-down, the largest sources of immaturity are those who say they are more mature than their supposed peers. It's a self-assessment problem, I suppose, but the solution is neither easy nor within the scope of my mood at present. At any rate, if you agree with two sentences ago (non-inclusive), be a pal and hook me up with a Hells Yeah so I know I'm not just making stuff up. Anyway, dinner ended and I went home. I had some energy to drain off, quite a bit in fact, so I played MMX6 for several hours. You can have it back whenever you want, Mike, and again my appreciation for the lending.
Tonight, like last Sunday, I went to Rollins. Brad, Molly, John and I started a game of cards at 10pm. Molly and John dropped out around 11pm, probably because Brad and I had all of their chips. We were joined shortly thereafter by Sarah, who played with us until the establishment closed at 2am. We were playing no limit texas holdin, the game that was played in Rounders in case I've ever made you watch it. Brad and I have played five times before, with varying degrees of success. The game seems to be most interesting one-on-one because there is the highest potential for learning without being overwhelmed with details. It becomes totally skill based, reading people and situations to the greatest degree possible given the information at hand. The interesting thing is that Brad and I seem to read in two distinctly seperate manners, but neither of us is arguably any better than the other. Brad analyzes the cards on the table, the likelihood that his opponent has made his or her hand based on when the various bets were placed. I, on the other hand, analyze the cards to decide what my opponent might have made, but analyze my opponent to decide what they are actually holding. Brad analyzes poker language, I analyze body language. In the right combination, I bet we'd make a hell of a poker player. If you read all of that, I'm truly sorry. You are now a full minute closer to death and no more enriched. I would have deleted that entire rant to spare you the minute had I only something better to say.
